COVID-19 figures in Việt Nam as of April 6
As of April 6, Vietnam’s Ministry of Health confirmed a total of 241 cases of COVID-19. Vietnam Government stated no new cases overnight and this was the first time in almost a month that Vietnam did not record any new case. Vietnam is still well controlling the epidemic with a total of 241 infected people, 91 of whom have been cured and without any deaths.

Hanoi city authorities stated they would intensify the social distancing rules and fine people who were out for non-essential reasons.

Vietnam’s Ministry of Labor is seeking up to 8,500 foreign experts to enter the country for key national projects. If approved, they would be quarantined for 14 days as per health guidelines.

Vietnam’s Immigration Department will allow foreign nationals on visa-free, tourist visas (including e-visas) that are unable to leave the country, to extend their stays up to a period of 30 days by filing an application with the authority. The policy is effective from March 30 to April 30. Foreigners that have entered for work or other purposes can contact their embassies and sponsors for further guidance in accordance with the law.
