Call for Admission: Master in Digital and Editorial Communication (Promotion 2023-2024)

The Master Program in Information - Communication, specialized in Digital and Editorial Communication of the University of Toulon (France) and International Francophone Institute (Vietnam National University in Hanoi), aims to train managers/specialists in communication field based on technologies.

I. GENERAL INFORMATION

1. Program strengths

  • 50% of the lessons are delivered by foreign lecturers.
  • It is a highly demanded major in the current period in Vietnam and worldwide.
  • The training content follows European standards, and the degree is issued by the University of Toulon, which holds global value.
  • Short training duration (14 months), including internship and thesis defense, for applicants with B2 level in French or equivalent.
  • Open for applicants who graduated from majors in economics, management, languages, and technical fields.
  • It is among the top 3 reputable programs in France in terms of the quality of postgraduates.

2. Syllabus

The total number of credits in the program is 60 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System), including 5 blocks, 1 internship period, and a thesis.

3. Master's degree

The degree is issued by the University of Toulon:

Master de Sciences Humaines et Sociales, mention Information et Communication, spécialité Communication Digitale et Editoriale.

(Master of Arts in Information and Communication, specializing in Digital and Editorial Communication).

II. SCHOLARSHIPS AND TUITION FEE (2023-2024)

1.Tuition fee: 112.000.000 VND (~4400 Euros)

*Note: For applicants under level B2 in French, there will be an additional fee for the French preparatory program as it lasts for 10 months. Hence, the total tuition is 159.000.000 VND (~6200 Euros)

2. Scholarships:

  • Accommodation scholarship & Monthly living allowance scholarship at the Dormitory of Vietnam National University (based on the actual time spent in Vietnam, not exceeding 16 months).
  • Excellent scholarship for internship in Europe worth 30.000.000 VND (~1200 Euros)
  • The quantity, allocation, form, and conditions of scholarships are adjusted annually based on the decisions of the scholarship evaluation committee of IFI.

III. ADMISSION

1. Admission scale & procedure:

Admission scale: 30 students / class / cohort; 01 cohort / year

2. Admission criteria

2.1. Regarding expertise and qualifications:

  • Applicants must have a 4-year Bachelor's degree/Engineering degree, with a minimum grade of "Good" or equivalent, or have a degree equivalent to a first-year Master's degree according to European standards.
  • Applicants who graduated from majors in the field of Journalism and Information (MS 832) do not need to study knowledge preparatory program.
  • Applicants who graduated from other majors need to study the following knowledge preparatory program at IFI: Theory of CIS (Information and Communication Sciences); and Organizational Communication.

2.2. Regarding French conditions:

Applicants should meet ONE of the following requirements:

  • Must be at Level 3 (or higher) according to the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam. However, students should be at Level 4 (or higher) to study more specialized subjects. Any equivalent certificates must be recognized by VNU and remain valid until the submission date of the application.
  • Have a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree from a foreign university teaching in French, recognized by the competent authority under current regulations.
  • Have a Bachelor's degree in French.
  • Be a citizen of a French-speaking country.

*Note: Applicants who do not meet the French conditions need to study the French preparatory program organized by IFI.

3. Timeline

Deadline for submission: September 15th, 2023 (or until it reaches the quota)

IV. ADMISSION PROCEDURE

1. Steps of admission:

Step 1: Application screening.

Step 2: Interview:

  • Duration: 15-20 minutes.
  • Language: French
  • Face-to-face interview (for applicants living in Hanoi)
  • Online interview (for applicants living in other places)

2. Evaluation criteria: 

Academic ability; Language proficiency; Candidate's awareness of and knowledge in the field or related subjects; Motivation and desire to learn, communication skills, and ability to express ideas as required; Evaluation and support provided in the recommendation letter.

3. An applicant is admitted if:

  • The Admission file meets the requirements.
  • The Admission Council confirms the candidate's sufficient capacity to pursue the program, with the minimum score for admission: 50/100.
  • If the applicant reaches B2 level in French, he/she will be officially recognized as a student of the program.

V. ADMISSION FILE

1. The admission file includes:

For Vietnamese applicants:

  • Completed registration form with full information and attached photo (see Sample).
  • Copy of university graduation diploma and transcript (certified true copy in French).
  • Copy of high school diploma (certified true copy in French).
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) in French.
  • Birth certificate (certified true copy in French).
  • National identity card (valid and certified true copy).
  • Motivation letter in French (lettre de motivation).
  • Health certificate issued by a general hospital within the last 6 months.
  • Three (03) passport-sized photos (clearly written with full name and date of birth on the back).
  • Three (03) envelopes (clearly written with recipient's name and address).
  • Application and admission fee: 1,050,000 VND per application.

Other documents (if available):

  • Introduction letter (not mandatory but encouraged for extra points).
  • Copies of academic documents, specialized certificates, research achievements, or achievements in cultural, artistic, and sports activities.
  • Candidates sent by an institution must submit the decision or official letter from the institution regarding the study mission, along with a certified true copy of the recruitment, acceptance, or appointment decision.

For international applicants:

  • Completed registration form with full information and attached photo (see Sample).
  • Copy of university graduation diploma and transcript (certified true copy in French).
  • Copy of high school diploma (certified true copy in French).
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) in French.
  • Birth certificate (certified true copy in French).
  • Passport (valid for at least 36 months).
  • Motivation letter in French (lettre de motivation).
  • Health certificate issued by authorized medical services in the candidate's country of residence within the last six months (with an English translation and authentication). This document must confirm that the candidate is not affected by any infectious or congenital diseases.
  • Certification of having received 2 doses of Covid-19 vaccine.
  • Recommendation letter from a lecturer (Ph.D. level or above) or an expert in the field of application (in French or English).
  • Four (04) 3x4 cm photos (taken within the last six months).
  • Proof of sufficient financial resources to cover the living expenses in Vietnam, such as one of the following documents in English:

- Bank statement in the applicant's name with a certified balance of at least 5,000 USD or its equivalent.

- Letter of sponsorship or financial support, along with certified copies of the sponsor's ID card and bank statement showing a balance of at least 5,000 USD or its equivalent.

- Bank account in Vietnam in the applicant's name with a certified balance of at least 5,000 USD or its equivalent.

- Proof of student loan provided by a bank.

- All other legally accepted supporting documents.

- Application fee: 1,050,000 VND per application (displayed in USD or converted to USD).
