TekBiz Series is a series of discussions featuring the participation of domestic and international experts, advised by Professor Hồ Tường Vinh, a lecturer at IFI. TekBiz Series discusses the diverse aspects of the financial technology (Fintech) sector organized by IFI within the framework of the Master's program in Banking, Finance, and Financial Technology (Fintech). The program is held monthly to share new sources of knowledge, updated information, and trends in banking, finance, and Fintech in Vietnam and globally.
Following the first issue of the TekBiz Series, the second issue focuses on "International Tax Optimization" with the main speaker being Mr. Henri Đặng, a tax consultant. Mr. Henri brings extensive experience with 25 years of teaching tax at Paris 1 Panthéon - Sorbonne University, Paris - Saclay University, and PSB Business School, France. In particular, he has held positions such as Tax Inspector at the Ministry of Finance, French Republic; Advisor-Trainer at the Paris High-Level Research Center on Banking. With his knowledge and personal experience, Mr. Henri Đặng provided valuable information for participants, especially Master's students in Fintech.
"International Tax Optimization" is one of the major concerns for every business and organization. International tax refers to the international aspects of a country's tax policies. International tax encompasses issues such as taxation of cross-border economic activities (including direct foreign investment (FDI) activities by multinational enterprises and indirect foreign investment (FPI) by governments of countries.
To kick off the event, Mr. Đào Tùng, Director of the Office for Academic & Student Affairs (IFI-FORMATION), and lecturer in the Master's program in Fintech at IFI, expressed his gratitude to Mr. Henri Đặng for collaborating with IFI to organize this insightful talkshow.

The main content of the Talkshow consists of 3 parts:
Part 1: Fundamental principles of tax governance laws through analyzing the tax systems of Vietnam and France.
Part 2: Notable points in the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement between Vietnam and France.
Part 3: Some methods to prevent tax evasion behaviors of businesses and organizations.
Some useful knowledge that Mr. Henri Đặng shared includes: the scale of income tax in Vietnam and France; how to calculate personal income tax in France; consumption tax and the rules of value-added tax; how to calculate VAT between consumers, retailers, and wholesalers;... Additionally, the expert also addressed the policy of applying a global minimum tax rate of 15% according to the lastest Resolution of the Vietnam National Assembly on January 01, 2024, and its impact on the business activities of multinational corporations.
At the end of TekBiz Series number 2, IFI will continue to organize talk shows providing useful information for the audience about banking, finance, and Fintech in Vietnam and around the world.
