Opening Ceremony Of New Academic Year 2019-2020 and New Year 2020 Celebration

The ceremony was attended by representatives of International Organizations in Vietnam, representatives of Board of Directors of VNU, with all the IFI staffs, faculties, alumni, students and strategic partners as Toulon University, IAMES, Viettel Network, IFI Solution, GH Hospitality…

Mr. Ngô Tự Lập, IFI’s President of Scientific and Academic Council/ Director gave a speech to congratulate the opening of the new academic year, to welcome all IFI new students. The President shared and encouraged the difficulties of international students when they study abroad in Vietnam and commited to work with IFI staff to provide students with the best learning conditions.

Expressing her joy at the opening ceremony, Jang Jiayuan from China, one of 68 new graduate students, on behalf of all IFI students, shared her thanks to VNU and IFI for gives students a chance to access the most up-to-date knowledge in Information and communication in a multinational, multicultural environment in Vietnam.

Last academic year, IFI continued to be one of the most internationalized organizations in Vietnam and the Asia-Pacific region. The Institute has successfully recruited 67 international students, the current total number of IFI students is more than 120 students from 17 different countries in the Francophone community. Besides 02 traditional IT Master's Degree programs in Vietnam-France, this year, a Master's Program - collaboration with University of Toulon, France: Digital Media and Publication has started successfully with 19 successful students.

Strengthening connectivity between businesses and institute is the purpose of IFI for improving the quality of training in order to link theoretical knowledge with practice. At the Opening Ceremony, Orchestra Networks-TIBCO, a leading transnational company in Big Data, awarded 03 annual scholarships to 03 students with excellent academic results in the academic year 2018-2019. Students who received the scholarship include Serge Sonfack Sounchio (Cameroon), Brahim Ali Koreimy (Republic of Chad) and Yasser Hamidullah (Madagascar), the scholarship is worth VND 20.000.000 /student. In addition, Viettel Network also granted two internship scholarships to IFI's students.

On this occasion, IFI also conducted the award of Master's degree to representatives of graduates of the 22nd year of IT (2017-2019). Most of the graduates are currently studying for a PhD or working at large companies and laboratories in many different countries around the world.

At the end of the ceremony, representatives of IFI alumni, who now have many years of work and hold important positions, shared valuable experiences that helped them succeed in their career path, these are the valuable sharing and inspiring learning for new students.

The opening ceremony ended with a warm Gala Dinner, in an excited atmosphere to welcome the new school year and to congratulate a new year with many development plans of all the Institute's staff.
